DESIGN ASSISTANT
This is an exciting opportunity to assist our Principal, Director of Design and Project Manager in high-end residential design and home staging projects with FF&E and product sourcing, space planning, and procurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in development of preliminary space planning: sketches, floor plans & elevations, specifications – driving to clients’ residences as needed
Research product - finishes, interior architecture, FF&E.
As directed, purchase furniture, lighting, finishes, art and accessories for design and home staging: request quotes, place orders, track, inspect, and accurately document all costs
Assist with Project Management as tasked via Asana
Create digital records of product, FF&E, and pricing in our inventory management system
Assist in keeping sample library up to date & organized
Run errands to showrooms, build positive relationships with vendors
SKILLS NEEDED
Bachelors degree
Experience selecting and specifying furniture, fixtures, equipments, cabinetry, appliances, hardware, materials, and interior finishes.
AutoCAD and/or Sketch-Up, and Photoshop
Creative thinker, with a good eye for aesthetics, color, detail
Highly organized & reliable, with strong time-management abilities
Excellent communication skills, positive and effective with co-workers, staff, crew, suppliers, and clients of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, and ethnic backgrounds and cultures
Highly adaptable, able to quickly shift direction as required, and willing to take on varied tasks & able to follow a strict schedule while also being flexible to last minute schedule changes
Positively represent our company brand with a respectful demeanor, while always maintaining an elevated level of customer service
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position, regularly 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with some overtime expected occasionally. Workdays start at 7:30AM end around 4:00PM at our Burlingame, CA location.
The starting rate for this position is $30 per hour.
